The Bandstand

I started a UFO/UAP Group on Meetup at the beginning of August, and our first official event just took place on the 5th September at the Bandstand in Brighton.

Unofficially I had also met a single other group member on the 8th August, who I shall refer to as K, at the same venue, after the planned first event was cancelled due to too low a turnout. I had just started the group, so an event at such short notice was quite ambitious, especially considering it was to be in Ditchling Beacon and late at night, for the purpose of some skywatching during the Lions Gate Portal.

I am really glad I instead got the chance to have a heart to heart with K that evening, who I warmed to instantly. For the first time in a long time I felt there was no need to hold back in conversation, considering the material that is shared in these kind of circles. He knew what I meant if not more, and over the last few weeks I have learnt from him if anything. That is a wonderful feeling considering how reclusive in this 'phenomenal centric' world I have been.

Truly over this last decade I recognise I have hid myself, learning through my own means, often alone and through study, and through my own experiences, to discover and create my world view. I have always felt connected in my own way, doing this kind of reclusive work, knowing there are thousands out there doing exactly the same - that was the lets say spiritual link I felt was always there. I always felt connected in this way, but recently this drive to connect physically with others has been very welcome. To really connect with others in a very real way has opened a new door, for me I feel at least. And I hope I have something of value to share with everyone I meet.

Meeting with several others on the 5th, including K, exceeded my expectations in numbers and also in the variety of experiences and knowledge on offer. I really felt everyone had their own unique piece of the puzzle, which I expect once joined together, may enlighten us all, to further understand the nature of the phenomenon and the reality that confronts us, as well as our connection with that reality, and with ourselves.

If there is anything I have learnt in particular in this short time by meeting these lovely new people and members - it is the value of simple discourse, which is immeasurable, and although I still have the ambition to escalate discourse into skywatching and further experiences, I do not find myself in any rush to force anything like this at the moment. I only find myself excited to have found these connections so that we can find a language that resonates with each of us, that supports us all.
